Hello, I’m Andrea Prior, from Langwarrin, Victoria, Australia.  I operate an eBay-based business full-time from home around my 2 small children.

A little history about me!

I’ve been involved in the home-based business industry since mid 2005.  I started with a well-known health and wellness company.  Actually they are better known for weight loss (want to take a guess which one??)

The business model was multi-level marketing, or network marketing.  I made lists of people I knew, pitched friends and family, went to meetings, traveled to international events, had ‘by the way..’ conversations with people, purchased and called leads, did google pay per click advertising and other types of expensive advertising.  I did everything I was told to do.

There was something missing!  An absolute love and belief in the true value of the product.  I liked the products and the health benefits that they gave me, but I didn’t think they were worth the RRP (recommended retail price) that I was selling them for.  So how could I sell them when I didn’t believe they were truly worth it?  The answer is I couldn’t!  When people said to me they were too expensive I had to agree with them.  I was buying them for 50% off as a distributor and I still thought that was expensive!

Contrary to what I was told by the company the products did NOT “sell themselves”.  I didn’t have people beating down my door to become a distributor and when I did recruit people they expected me to make them successful.

So why did I turn to eBay?

I joined eBay as a buyer back in September 2000.  I mostly bought things, especially from overseas.  I found that I suddenly had access to a world of products for fabulous prices, AND they got delivered to my door!

It took me a few years to have a go at selling but once I did….  WOW!!  Who ever thought that some of the stuff that I had sitting unused in cupboards could be worth so much!

I got really involved in selling in 2007 when I was looking at moving houses as I was looking to ‘declutter’ my home.  I figured that if it wasn’t here then I didn’t have to pack it and move it.

I started to seriously look at eBay as a business vehicle in late 2009.  I enrolled in a one-on-one coaching program and haven’t looked back.
