eBay Powerseller – To be or not to be, that is the question!

So you want to become an eBay Powerseller?

Have you ever had a really good think about what this means? Lets look at a few questions that you could ask yourself.

1.  Does it give you extra confidence with your customers?
Yes.  Being a powerseller (or what will soon be called a Top Rated Seller) gives potential customers the confidence that you are a professional and trusted eBay business person.  It means that you treat you customers well, have reasonable costs and receive great feedback from people who have purchased from you in the past.

Do you have to sell more to get there?
Not necessarily.  The ideal way is to have a small item, easily packaged item with a great profit margin, but this is not always easy to find.

Do you need to become a powerseller to make money on eBay?
Absolutely not!  There are many online methods available that use eBay as a front-end tool to get traffic to you.  What you do with that traffic is up to you as long as you stay within the eBay rules.  For more information click here or see the banner at the bottom of this post to subscribe to my favourite eBay newsletter for fantastic techniques to build an online business using eBay as a launching platform.

Does it mean you earn loads more money?
Absolutely NOT!  There are many powersellers who barely even make a profit each month.  This is because the items they are selling are just not bringing in enough profit over and above what they paid to purchase the product themselves.  This mainly happens in the electronics category.  There is so much competition and therefore prices get driven down because you have so much of a choice who to purchase from.

I hope this gives you some ‘food for thought’ on what you want out of an eBay business. Build yourself a business that frees your time up for more important things and more income, don’t build yourself a job that will require you to spend more time for less money.
